Short version: we collect what's needed to run a weather service and bill for an API, nothing more. We don't sell your data, we don't build advertising profiles, and we never ask where you are - we show you local weather from your IP address without storing it.
Your IP address reaches our servers, as with any website. We pass it to a local database (DB-IP City Lite, held on our own infrastructure) to work out the nearest city so the page opens on your weather. The result is used for that page render only - we don't store your IP alongside it, and we don't log your location history. Standard web-server logs, which include IP addresses, are retained briefly for security and debugging.
Preferences you set - temperature units, time-of-day theme - live in your browser's local storage. They never reach us.
Only processors we need: Stripe (payments), our hosting and email providers, and error/uptime monitoring. They act on our instructions. We don't sell personal data or share it for advertising.
You can access, correct, export or delete your account data, object to processing, or withdraw consent where consent is the basis. Most of it is self-serve in your account settings; for anything else write to and we'll respond within 30 days. If you're in the EEA or UK you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.
Traffic is encrypted in transit, passwords are hashed, API keys are secret to your account, and access to production systems is limited. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we'll tell you and the relevant regulator as required.
The Service isn't directed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
