These terms cover your use of the WeatherMetro website, weather pages and API (together, "the Service"), operated by . By creating an account or calling the API you agree to them.
You need an account to use the API. Keep your API key secret - you are responsible for everything done with it. Tell us promptly at if you believe it has been exposed, and we'll issue a replacement. One account per organisation; don't create multiple free accounts to work around quotas.
Each plan includes a monthly call allowance. When you exhaust it, the API returns HTTP 429 until the next monthly reset or an upgrade - we never bill you for overage you didn't choose. Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through Stripe, renew automatically, and can be cancelled at any time from your dashboard; cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period and we don't pro-rate partial months. Prices may change with at least 30 days' notice, which will never apply retroactively to a period you've already paid for.
Build things. Use our forecasts inside your apps, sites, dashboards and products, commercially or not. On the free plan you must display a visible credit - "Weather data by WeatherMetro" - linked back to this site; paid plans may omit it.
Because the underlying data comes from open sources with their own licences, you must also preserve upstream attribution where practical. The full list of sources lives on our attribution page.
The Service is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. Weather forecasts are inherently uncertain, model data can be delayed or wrong, and observation networks fail. You must not rely on the Service as the sole basis for decisions where errors could cause injury, death, or significant loss - including aviation, marine navigation, emergency management, or the protection of life and property.
For official warnings, always consult your national weather service.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
We aim for high availability and publish incidents on our status page, but free plans carry no service-level guarantee. Business and Enterprise plans may include an SLA, which is set out in your plan or contract. We may change or retire endpoints; when we do, we'll give reasonable notice and - unlike some of our predecessors - we won't switch the API off without one.
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms, non-payment, or abuse that threatens the Service, normally after warning you first where circumstances allow. On termination your right to use the Service ends; sections 5, 8 and 9 survive.
We may update these terms; material changes will be announced by email to account holders and reflected in the date above. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept it.
These terms are governed by the laws of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and the courts there have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
